Crafted in Poland during the 1960s to 1970s, this impressive 18-inch ceramic vase originates from the renowned Mirostowickie Ceramic Works in Mirostowice Dolne. Celebrated for their contributions to post-war European design ("Polish New Look"), Mirostowice produced sought-after art pottery marked by distinctive glazes and architectural forms.

    DESIGN DETAILS
Glaze & Colorway: Rich earth tones featuring an organic blend of olive/amber drip and earthy brown, characteristic of Mirostowice's signature high-gloss, variegated studio glazes.
Signature Look: The company is famous for its smooth, distinctively tapered silhouettes.

    NOTE ON MAKER'S MARK
It is very common for Mirostowice pieces from this era to lack a visible maker's mark, as many were originally distributed with simple paper labels that washed off over the decades. Despite missing the factory stamp, the unique geometric proportions of Model W-129 — the wide, flared rim tapering down to a sharp, angular shoulder and a long conical body — combined with the characteristic olive-green and brown running glaze make it a definitive Mirostowice design.

    CONDITION
Flea bites, glaze crazing, and production kiln flaws are common to vintage Polish ceramics from this era. There is a chip on the upper lip of the vase that was present at the time of purchase. The chip has been reflected in the price, offered at 50% below typical market value for a pristine example.

    VALUE
At 18 inches, this piece falls into a premium tier. Most standard Mirostowice vases are smaller (6–10 inches), making an 18-inch floor-sized or oversized mantel piece much rarer.

    Dimensions: 18" H × 4.5" base × 5.5" top | Weight: 6 lb 2 oz
